Description:

The function of the ProAccess Advanced Warning System is to provide a secondary warning system to mitigate rail vehicle/wayside worker accidents. A visual alert is provided via the Wayside ProAccess Alert System (PT-0309 and PT-0310) for operators of Class I and Class II vehicles.

A visual and audible alert is sent to roadway workers via a Personal Alert Device (PAD) PT-0705. The PT-0705 alert is activated when a train passes a wayside train detector sensor, installed on the PT-0309 or PT-0310 unit, warning the PAD wearer of an approaching vehicle to their location.

In addition to giving an advanced warning, the ProAccess system can also track worker entry/exit time & location, and worker movement along the roadway. Using PT-0310 boxes this information can be transmitted to the agency in real time using an existing network via Cat 6 cable.
